A distant, matter-of-fact love song, with coolly sinister lyrics. It’s made even more fantastically creepy when the subject of the song interjects halfway through.

05: MEN - “Life’s Half Price”

There are a number of great songs on MEN’s debut LP (I would have put “Credit Card Babies” on here had it not been released earlier), but I chose this one mostly because of the way it sounds live. When JD Samson starts yelping into the mic toward the end, you know it’s serious business.

Ridic sexy song made sexier by well-timed voice modulation and perfectly enunciated French rap. The video is also highly seductive, in its way.
